Fire in the main house at AiR Green

On December 10 2025 there was a fire at Søndre Green farm, in the main house where the AiR Green participants would normally live. Fortunately, the house was empty and no one was injured in the fire. The house itself - a log construction from the 18th century - is still standing, but all of the inventory are completely damaged. The house will therefore have to undergo a complete renovated in the coming year. As soon as the renovation is complete, AiR Green will get up and running as normal.

This means that the 1 month AiR Green residency has been canceled for 2026. A total of 8 residency participants were selected by the jury for the spring and autumn of 2026, and were supposed to live in the main house.

Luckily, Studio AiR Green is still being organized, a two-month stay in the studio apartment “Summer barn”. The first artist is Jayita Barai from India who arrives at the farm 15 April and stays until 10 June.
