"Proceeding my questionings at Søndre Green farm, at the foot of the Norefjell mountains, would allow me to open these explorations to brand new contexts of life, rhythm, climate, as well as to the other residents’ cultures. I wonder which effect this journey would play on my perception of textile, in its capacity to substitute to home. How could it allow me to enter in an environment that is yet to be discovered? Through embroidery, weaving and sewing, a dialogue will emerge between the landscape and my phantasms, uncovering the link that exists between textile, beliefs and the healing it holds for myself and others."
Artist´s Statement
My research focuses on the therapeutic potential of textiles and weight, approached through their aesthetic and sensory dimensions. As the first material the body comes into contact with, fabric becomes a surface of interaction between the self and the outside world—capable of both isolating and intimately connecting individuals. This daily coexistence imbues the material with emotion and memory. Books, folding screens, chests, blankets... each of my pieces evokes the home, intimacy, and secrecy. In their hidden folds, memories slip in and reverie lingers.
