Artist´s Statement
Informed by an appreciation for folk art and craft, Brouder’s material-led practice
begins with locally collected environmental and societal debris as the primary
conceptual and material source. She explores, through the lens of abundance, the
potential of this everyday ephemera as a vehicle for thinking through ideas of value,
attention and futuring. Brouder engages with a variety of historical and traditional
textile structures to transform material.
